Wapato Park
Wapato Lake Park opened in 1889 as a private park, and the land was later donated to the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma in 1920. The park occupies over 85 acres in south Tacoma and features a walking trail around the lake and historic pergola built in 1938, which still stands today.
