“It’s Good To Be Wright”; Tacoma’s Annie and Fannie
Wright Park was established in the 1890’s through a land donation by The Tacoma Land Company and under the leadership of Charles B. Wright. The two most iconic statues in the park are the Greek Maidens which were created by Italian Sculptor Antonio Canova and are commonly known as “Annie and Fannie”. They were donated to the park in 1891 by Wright along with other iconic statues in the park such as the Brussels Lions and the Fisherman's Daughter statue that graces the duck pond.
